Though hehas never smelled printer's ink, Ed Prentiss has the job of playing the role of Radio Columnist and Communicator Ned Holden in The Guiding Light, NBC dramatic serial. In the script, which is heard Mondays through Fridays at 11:45am EST over the NBC-Red network Holden is in love with Mary Ruthledge (arajane Wells), daughter of the Good Samaritan, Dr. Ruthledge. Prentiss was born in Chicago on September 9, 1909, but grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Flying Time Star. Harold Peary, who plays the role of Major Fellowes in Flying Time, came to radio by way of tent shows, musical comedy, the legitimate stage and the movies. Hal was born in San Leandro, Calif. July 25, 1905, and spent almost all of his life on the Pacific Coast until coming to NBC Chicago studios in June, 1935.
