Series Description:

THE WORLD OF F. SCOTT FITZGERALD was a series of eight one-hour
programs giving an audio biography of F. Scott Fitzgerald and his
times.  The series was a production of National Radio Theatre of
Chicago and aired on National Public Radio stations.

The first half hour of each show covered Fitzgerald and era of the
roaring twenties, including interviews with people who knew him.  It
was done in a style similar to BIOGRAPHY IN SOUND, according to the
J. David Goldin OTR database.  The second hald hour consisted of
dramatizations of Mr. Fitzgerald's works.

The cast included Richard Thomas, Barbara Rush, Jerry Orbach, Hugh
O'Brian, Studs Terkel for the full series.

The series aired at various times and dates around the country, so
the dates for first and last show are in question.


Log Comments:

Dick Judge dates the series from Feb. 6, 1980 to Mar. 26, 1980 as
broadcast on WXXI-FM, Rochester, NY.  The GOLDINdex database dates it
from Nov. 1, 1981 on WPBH-FM, Middlefield, CT.  Comments for episode
6, states "The series was probably first broadcast June 8, 1979".
Dates in this log are based on this unverified comment.

The log lists the episode title of each show followed by the title of
the work dramatized.  Each are labeled.  The work for episode 5, "One
Trip Abroad", was not found in any listings and may be in error.
