T H E S H A P E O F T H I N G S T O C O M E ----- --------- --- ----------- --- ------- 1991 First Show: 26 Aug, 1991 Last Show: 14 Sep, 1991 Number Shows: 8 Audition Show: none Series Description: THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME is a series of 8 adaptations of science fiction stories by major authors brought to radio by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Some of these stories are old radio friends, like Huxley's "Brave New World" (aired Feb. 27, 1956 on the CBS Radio Workshop) or "Kaleidoscope", Ray Bradbury's story which appeared in Dimension X and Suspense, among others. Ray Bradbury actually directed this modernized version. You may recognise some of the others since they are either well-known works or have had other outlets. "Flowers for Algernon", for example, made it to the big screen under the title "Charlie". If you're a Sci-Fi fan, any of these are a real treat. You'll have to look carefully for them. Besides being modern and from outside the US, they may not be listed by series title, only by show title. Don't let that stop you, it's worth the search. Log Comments: Where known, the origional author's name is provided below the show title. Note that the running time is different from show to show. Therefore a "Run Time" column is included in the list. Chronological Log: Date Num Title Run Time ------------ --- ---------------------- -------- 26 Aug, 1991 1 "Brave New World" 120 min by A.
