Series Description: Musical Variety

Paul Whiteman Presents, was a 30 minute NBC replacement for Edgar Bergen in the summer of 1943, bringing together Whiteman's thirty five piece orchestra and hostess Dinah Shore in the smash hit of vacation time. The show was a high budget variety hour, featuring songs, jokes, and top guest stars. Among the other guests over the thirteen week run were Eddie Cantor, George Burns and Gracie Allen, Red Skelton, Ed "Archie" Gardner, and Jimmy Durante. Paul Whiteman Presents premiered June 6 and went off August 29.
