Series Description:
OUR MISS BROOKS premiered on CBS July 19, 1948 and soon became one of the network's most popular comedies, running for nine consecutive years. Eve Arden played a fun-loving but sometimes frazzled English teacher, Connie Brooks, a role for which she won an Emmy.

Teachers across the country related to Miss Brooks. Arden received thousands of letters from teachers relating their own frustrating experiences. She was offered teaching jobs, was asked to speak at PTA meetings and was even made an honorary member of the National Education Association.

The bashful biology teacher Phillip Boynton, whom Miss Brooks loved to chase, was played by Jeff Chandler. Osgood Conklin, Madison High's harried principal, was played by veteran performer Gale Gordon. Leonard Smith played the school idiot, "Stretch" Snodgrass.

Jane Morgan appeared as Mrs. Davis, the owner of the apartment building. Richard Crenna played Walter Denton, the show's "Henry Aldrich". Gloria McMillan played Harriet, the principal's daughter. Scripts were written by Al Lewis, who often directed.

The series transitioned to TV in 1952, running through to 1956.

Log Comments:
It appears that a large number of the early shows are available for the years 1948 through 1950. From 1950 through 1957, few shows are available from the catalogs I reference. Therefore, this list is only a partial list of shows.

Shows did not have formal titles, therefore show titles vary greatly from catalog to catalog. I have listed the first title found as the main title with subsequent titles listed as "Alt." below the main.
Richard Novak sent a list of shows he has, which I've incorporated into the list below. He also had some show descriptions that I included indented, below the titles. His list also included titles without dates that are not included here.

Episode numbers in the "Num" column are those found in various catalogs. There is no guarantee of accuracy for them but are provided as "extra information". The numbering is intended to show number of shows in the series.
