BACKGROUND:

Jim French has been writing and producing radio dramas for Seattle listeners since 1965. He has written and/or produced 590 shows and new shows are being added every month. While most of the shows are episodes of his various series, there are more than 130 stand-alone shows.

Until the advent of the syndicated IMAGINATION THEATRE on March 17, 1996, Jim's shows were aired only in the Seattle area. Jim's shows are now syndicated internationally as part of IMAGINATION THEATRE over the Internet and on about 135 radio stations in the United States, Canada, and Australia. IMAGINATION THEATRE is also heard on XM satellite radio and in many countries via satellite.

It has only been since late 2000 that new shows initially air on the same date on both the flagship station in Seattle, and the syndicated IMAGINATION THEATRE. Before then, new shows were usually aired on Seattle radio prior to their syndicated IMAGINATION THEATRE initial airing.

This log lists the first airing dates of all shows on Seattle radio. If a show was later incorporated into a specific series, the initial airing date as part of that series is also listed.

"UMBRELLA TITLES":
Over the years, Jim French's shows have aired on four Seattle stations: KVI, KIRO, KNWX, and KIXI.

Each of these stations has had an "umbrella title" under which his series and stand-alone shows have been aired. These local "umbrella titles" are: KVI THEATER OF THE MIND on KVI, THE KIRO MYSTERY PLAYHOUSE on KIRO, PEMCO IMAGINATION THEATRE on KNWX, IMAGINATION THEATRE on KNWX, and IMAGINATION THEATRE on KIXI.

The beginning and ending dates of these "umbrella title" programs are given later in the Log.
