GENERAL MILLS RADIO ADVENTURE THEATER (compiled by Dick Judge) First show: Feb 5, 1977 Number of shows: 52 Last show: Jul 31, 1977 Host: Tom Bosley This was another of the great series that was aired during the revival of radio's golden age in the 1970s. Broadcast on Saturday and Sunday evenings for 26 weekends and hosted by TV's Tom Bosley. Directed at the younger set the shows were adapted from the works of Robert Louis Stevenson, Herman Melville, James Fenimore Cooper, Jules Verne, Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling, Sir Walter Scott and others; all classical and well recognized by the public. As Tom Bosley would say "welcome to the world of your own making.... Welcome to the world of radio drama, a theater whose stage has no limits but your imagination - where adventure is yours for the listening, where you can be anything you dream - armored knight, lovely princess, magician or monster, hero or even villain. Sail seas, scale mountains, explore galaxies, all in your your mind." Can anyone add to that description? I think not. DATE NO.
