"Four Corners Theater" (not to be confused with the "Four Corners USA spinoff of "Snow Village Sketches") was an anthology of perennially popular plays from the hinterlands of America. They were "crossroads dramas," said Newsweek, "replete with villainy and virtue, foiled dastards and triumphant maidens, foreclosed mortgages and brave widows." Some of them had been running in country theaters for more than half a century. The opening broadcast was "Aaron Slick from Punkin Crick".
