This serial was loosely copied from the long running radio serial "One Man's Family". They were both created and produced by Carlton E. Morse. The show follows the lives of the Spence family and was written as episodes and phases. For example, Episode 20, Phase 2, is called "Sarah, Have You Come Home to Cry Over Spilled Milk?" Sarah comes home pregnant and creates a scandal when she cannot prove her marriage. (her marriage license was ruined by blood stains), and thus becomes the "family skeleton."
