D A R K F A N T A S Y ------- ------------- 1941 - 1942 First Show: Nov 14, 1941 Last Show: Jun 19, 1942 Number Shows: 31 Audition Show: not known Series Description: DARK FANTASY was an series dedicated to dealings with the unknown. Originating from radio station WKY, Oklahoma City, it was written by Scott Bishop (of "Mysterious Traveler" and "The Sealed Book" fame) and was heard Fridays over NBC stations. Keith Paynton served as announcer. The shows covered horror, science fiction and murder mysteries. Although a short series, the shows are excellent with some stories way ahead of their time. Log Comments: The catalogs listed these shows with only spotty information other than titles. Few listed both broadcast dates and episode numbers. Gordon Payton's catalog and Jerry Haendiges' log shows there were 31 original broadcasts. Fortunately, both had complete show lists. Both have only the first half of #30, "Sleeping Death" and both listed the last show, "Seance", as partial.
