1944-45, while the host, Ted Malone, went to Italy and Iceland as a war correspondent. Weekday 
broadcasts resumed on ABC at 11:45am, later at 11:30am for Westinghouse, 1945-49, with Ernest
 Chappell, announcer. Heard weekdays, 1949-1955, monstly at 1:15, with co-op advertising.

 receiving 20,000 letters from his largely feminine audience. Each show was based on a theme, he sat
 at a table and with only an accompanying organist read poetry.
